About Us

I’ve been working in the Internet industry for over 15 years.  If there’s one thing I’ve observed in the web development world, it’s that small business frequently gets a raw deal.

Either you have no funds, and have to resort to the kindness of your neighbor’s brother’s best friend’s college aged son to design you a site for free…but they don’t know that much more about web design than you do, so it doesn’t turn out so well and then they change majors and you’re left with no support.

Or you have a little money, and have to go with an outfit that promises you a site for $500.  And for $500, they slap your logo on a bland template, shoe-horn your content into a few generic pages, and never take your phone calls again.

Or you have a decent budget, and go with a big web development shop.  You get a gorgeous site with all the bells and whistles – most of which you will never, ever use.  And you’re presented with an invoice that means you’re eating macaroni and cheese for the next six months…and that’s just for development, it doesn’t include the monthly hosting or maintenance fees.

Small business deserves better.  Get it  by knowing what to ask for.  That’s what this site is about.

I grew up in the Washington, DC area, and there’s a clothing store there by the name of SYMS.  Their slogan is  ”An Educated Consumer is Our Best Customer.”   I want those who are shopping for web development services – whether it’s a brand new site or looking to change the site you have – to understand what they are getting.  If you understand what you’re getting, you will be a much happier customer.

So let’s break through all the buzz words and jargon, so you can understand the technologies and services that go into making a good website.
